“Sarah’s responsibilities include managing all of the growing processes and procedures of our Pennsylvania facility to achieve the goal of producing and delivering industry-leading products that reliably meet or exceed our customers’ expectations," said Blair Hoey, Green Leaf Plants managing director. "The position also includes the acquisition and development of new varieties and programs that will benefit both our customers and our company.”
Sarah returns to Green Leaf Plants after a few years away gaining valuable career experience, including management of large-scale greenhouse production, horticultural sales and technical service for the Northeastern U.S. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's of science in horticulture.
“I am delighted to be re-joining such a well-respected company that prides itself on top-quality starter plants and service,” said Sarah Mitchell. “As a perennials-loving horticulturist, I am a good resource for growers and sales representatives. Cultivars we introduce at Green Leaf Plants are fresh and ruggedly beautiful. My experience demands that to be successful, the varieties must be programmable and grown to meet a sales window. Culturally, they must fit easily into growers’ current protocols, be profitable to grow and have high consumer appeal. It all circles back to our customers’ success.”
“We are fortunate to add someone of her caliber to the Green Leaf Plants senior management team," said Scott Schaefer, president and CEO of Aris. "I am confident that she will play a key role in developing and implementing effective solutions to the challenges faced in our horticulture growing operations.”
Aris is a leading horticulture company with operations across North America. Products include Tradewinds Hibiscus, Keepsake Azaleas, HBA dormant hydrangeas, Green Leaf Plants perennials and Must Have Perennials.
