Aren Phillips has joined the Walters Gardens, Inc. growing family as lead grower. In addition to overseeing growing operations for the North Section of the Walters Gardens greenhouse complex, he will also be managing inventory.

Phillips most recently served as assistant propagation manager for Spring Meadow Nursery, where he managed in-house cutting crews and cutting production lines, designed and implemented new techniques for standard protocol, among many other things.

“We are thrilled that Aren has joined our growing team,” said John Walters, CEO of Walters Gardens, Inc. “With his proven performance in the industry, we are excited to have him on board and from the few weeks he’s been here, we’ve been incredibly impressed with his skills.”

Gregory Nichols has taken a new role as crop and fertility manager for our field operations, starting January 2018. Nichols joined Walters Gardens in January 2016 and has quickly demonstrated a positive attitude, facilitated change, and been a valuable member of our greenhouse team. In his new role, he’ll be managing the crop planning and fertility management of over 1500 acres of bare root production.

Previously, Nichols held the position of lead grower of the North Section of the Walters Gardens greenhouse complex and was in charge of inventory, growing, and supervising staff. This position is now held by Aren Phillips.
