NGB announces snapdragon video contest

The organization is seeking videos, tagged with #snapdragonlove, that highlight ways the plant is being promoted.

Sponsored by National Garden Bureau and its members, the #SNAPDRAGONLOVE contest is designed to inspire creative videos from anyone and everyone who loves snapdragons, both cut flowers and bedding/potted/landscape varieties.

How to enter

Submissions should be 30-60 second videos that feature snapdragons. They may be skits, animation, testimonials or other types of videos, as long as they feature and promote snapdragons.

There are five ways to enter:

  1. Facebook: Between Feb. 14 and May 15, post a video featuring snapdragons on your personal or business page (“Video) and include the hashtag #SNAPDRAGONLOVE to receive one entry into the contest. You must have a Facebook account to enter via Facebook. 
  2. Twitter: Between Feb. 14 and May 15, tweet a video and include the hashtag #SNAPDRAGONLOVE to receive one entry into the contest. You must have a Twitter account to enter via Twitter.Twitter accounts must be set to public.
  3. Instagram: Between Feb. 14 and May 15, upload a video with a caption and include the hashtag #SNAPDRAGONLOVE to receive one entry into the contest. You must have an Instagram account to enter via Instagram. Instagram accounts must be set to public.
  4. YouTube: – Between Feb. 14 and May 15, upload a video with a caption and include the hashtag #SNAPDRAGONLOVE to receive one entry into the contest. You must have a YouTube account to enter via YouTube.
  5. Direct submission: Between Feb. 14 and May 15, submit video to National Garden Bureau by emailing the file, or a  link to the file, to info@ngb.org. Include in the email your name and contact phone number

Videos will be judged and scored based on appeal, creativity, and a demonstration of snapdragon love. Top video finalists will be chosen by a selection committee, will be asked to fill out an entry form and submit their video to the NGB office and will then be eligible for the $500 grand prize and two honorable mentions of $100 each.
