Skagit Gardens Spring Trials display features helenium ‘Short ’n’ Sassy, a compact plant featuring bright flowers.
'Short 'n' Sassy' is a version of the stately border perennial. It starts blooming up to two weeks earlier than other heleniums, and flowers continuously until late fall. New blossoms open above spent blooms. It is suitable for one- or two-gallon production.
'Short 'n' Sassy' is a version of the stately border perennial. It starts blooming up to two weeks earlier than other heleniums, and flowers continuously until late fall. New blossoms open above spent blooms. It is suitable for one- or two-gallon production.Also being shown by Skagit is Erysimum ‘Honeyberry,’ which features intense magenta purple blooms that when mature become a soft mauve. Variegated foliage ages from gold to cream, and provides a backdrop to the blooms.
It has an upright habit, and the flower color is most intense when grown cold (40°F – 45°F). Suitable for one- or two-gallon production, it is a showy early-season offering.
