Fruit and Spice Park – Homestead, Fla.
Our stop for lunch was at the Fruit and Spice Park, a 37-acre tropical botanical garden owned and operated by the Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department. The park's tropical climate hosts more than 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and nuts, including more than 180 varieties of mango, 75 varieties of bananas, and 70 varieties of bamboo.
Photos of the Fruit and Spice Park grounds, including banana trees, jackfruit trees, candle fruit trees, and the inside of a Vietnamese gac fruit, called “devil’s guts.”
