The Society of American Florists (SAF) is hosting a webinar to help members understand and comply with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Sponsored by Hortica Insurance & Employee Benefits, “The Clock’s Ticking: Is Your Business Ready for the New Health Care Law?” webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. EST. Attorney and health care expert Heather Meade of Ernst & Young Washington Counsel will explain the basics of the law and its requirements for employers.
The webinar will answer questions about the new health care law, including:
“Am I a large or small employer?”
“What are my employees’ responsibilities for obtaining health coverage?”
“How can I qualify for the small business health care tax credit?”
“As a large employer, what are my requirements under the new law?”
“I already provide health coverage to my full-time employees. Will my current coverage be acceptable under the new law?”
“What is an exchange and how will it work for my business?”
The webinar is free for SAF members. Click here to register. Non-members may also attend the webinar for $350.00 by contacting SAF member services at info@safnow.org.
Those who have a question about the ACA they’d like to talk to someone about, or one they’d like to have addressed during the webinar, may contact SAF Senior Director, Government Relations Corey Connors at cconnors@safnow.org. SAF is also creating an online Health Care Resource Center with easy-to-understand ACA information.
