Voting is open for American Garden Award

The flower popularity contest ends Aug. 31


The American Garden Award voting is now open for the fourth season of competition with six varieties up for the big award.

The American Garden Award is open to breeders, garden centers, gardeners and the general public for voting. Participants choose the flower they think has the most appealing garden characteristics. The flowers are shown at 24 public gardens throughout the country, and photos are available on the AGA website.

Last year’s winner was the SunPatiens® Variegated Spreading White, an impatiens that performs well in the sun as well as cool and shady areas.

This year’s entries include the following varities:

Begonia boliviensis ‘Santa Cruz™ Sunset’

Gazania ‘Big Kiss™ White Flame’ F1

Petchoa x hybrida ‘SuperCal® Pink Ice’

Petunia ‘Surfinia®

Deep Red’Sunflower ‘Goldie’ F1
