AmericanHort has announced that it has rescheduled the canceled 2018 Plug & Cutting Conference for September 4-6, 2019, according to an email to registrants of the 2018 conference. The organization will host Plug & Cutting 2019 in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area, at the Embassy Suites in Concord, and hold Production Tour stops at the same venues as those that were listed for the 2018 conference.
The tour will visit two family-owned operations. These include Metrolina Greenhouses, which has the United States’ largest single-site heated greenhouse, and Rockwell Farms, which has 36 acres of environmentally controlled greenhouse space.
Originally scheduled for September of this year in Charlotte, NC, the conference was cancelled due to the looming threat of Hurricane Florence, a category 4 hurricane that made landfall on the eastern Carolina coast on September 14th.
“We had record breaking attendance for the event and were disappointed to have to reschedule, however, out of an abundance of caution for our members, attendees, and sponsors and great respect for the people of North Carolina whose lives were to be disrupted by hurricane Florence, we felt this was without question the right thing to do,” said Ken Fisher, President and CEO of AmericanHort.
Event registration will open in January 2019. AmericanHort will communicate with registrants when the registration is officially open.
