The Society of American Florists (SAF) announced that the USDA’s Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) published the “Advance notice of proposed rulemaking and request for comments,” on amending the chrysanthemum white rust regulations. The action follows several years of discussions with the industry, including a government-industry meeting organized by SAF and APHIS in January. The Federal Register notice can be read here. SAF says it will be in touch with interested growers over the next several weeks regarding submission of formal comments.
