Arend-Sosef chooses Philips

Company will work with Philips in partnership

Philips' LED Horti partnership with Nic.Sosef will be carried on by Arend-Sosef. Martien de Zeeuw (technical director at Arend-Sosef) and Henk Ham (director of Arend-Sosef International). They have already been presented with their certificates by Frank van Holsteijn (key account manager LED Horti Philips).

Arend-Sosef has been created as a result of the merger of Nic.Sosef and Van der Arend. Nic. Sosef had already been a certified Philips LED Horti Partner for some time. The company announced that Van der Arend recently chose to work in partnership with Philips Lighting as well. All of the relevant employees at Arend-Sosef and Arend-Sosef International have now been trained and certified by Philips. This means that Arend-Sosef has all the necessary knowledge and expertise to work together with Philips to create LED solutions for use in horticulture.

The handover took place after a training course run by Philips. The course explored the many ways in which LED lighting can be used in horticulture. It focused not only on what is feasible from a technical point of view, but also on the effects LED lighting can have on a variety of crops and the ways in which it can be used to fulfill growers' requirements, enabling specific light recipes to be developed together with the growers for a range of applications.

Arend-Sosef is one of the world's largest suppliers of horticultural technology and products. The company has some 300 employees, five branches in the Netherlands and a strong export department. Arend-Sosef helps growers all over the world with projects, products and support.

Philips supports its partners in projects and field tests. This is done, amongst other things, by the Philips plant physiologists using their knowledge of light recipes to assist growers when they help to set up and
