Univ. of Ga. horticulture professor Allan Armitage and his dance partner Liza Pitts raised over $6,000 during the 3rd annual Dancing With the Athens Stars, a fundraiser for Project Safe. The dance competition on March 21 featured 12 couples and raised over $93,000 for the non-profit organization working to end domestic violence.
Armitage and Pitts, who is a member of the Univ. of Ga. Ballroom Performance Group, took 3rd place in the Audience Favorite competition. The couple performed the Hustle disco dance.
