Chemicals manufacturer Atticus announced the appointment of Jon Boljesic to the newly created position of chief legal officer.

"This move demonstrates Atticus' continued commitment to build not just a good, but a great company — responsible, strategically aligned and focused on unlocking new areas of growth while defending what's already been built," the company said in a news release. "In his role, Jon will bring together cross-functional and legal expertise to drive competitive advantage, elevate industry engagement and position Atticus for long-term sustainable success."

Boljesic joins Atticus from the pesticide industry. Most recently, he served as general counsel at Envu, where he led a global team and held responsibility for all legal and compliance matters across the organization. Prior to his time at Envu, Boljesic held several roles at Bayer CropScience.

He began his legal career in private practice, where he focused primarily on patent litigation before federal courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the International Trade Commission.

Boljesic earned his B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

He and his wife, Vinca, have three daughters: Nina (4), Clara (2) and Ella (7 months). In his spare time, he enjoys Michigan football, reading, cooking and attempting to golf.

Atticus, established in 2014, is a manufacturer of chemistries with Agriculture and EcoCore portfolios.
