Benary’s Begonia boliviensis Santa Cruz Sunset received the 2012 “Industry’s Choice” award at the OFA Short Course. According to the company, it is the first commercial Begonia boliviensis from seed, making it a cost-efficient alternative to comparable varieties from cuttings, and there are no royalties. It can be used for the landscape, hanging baskets and containers, or in tubs or flower beds that need to to tolerate extreme heat and weather conditions. Benary says Santa Cruz Sunset also does not need pinching.
