Q: I include a mycorrhizal blend in my growing media. Is RootShield likely to inhibit root colonization by mycorrhizal fungi?
A: Though Trichoderma harzianum isolate T-22 (the active ingredient of RootShield) is a great root and soil colonizer, it does not inhibit root and soil colonization by mycorrizae. RootShield and good quality formulations of endo- and ecto-mycorrhizal fungi products compliment one another quite well, especially when looking at their combined effects on overall plant health and vigor. Each of these types of fungi serves different purposes in the plant and soil environment.
