GSI Horticultural's Moisturin Anti-transpirant will be used to protect the Capitol Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., this year.
An 80-foot blue spruce tree from Arizona’s Apache Sitgreaves National Forest will be sprayed with the GSI product before it is cut. Then it will be transported on a truck for display around its native state of Arizona, and several other places, as it travels across country to the Capitol lawn.
The application of Moisturin is designed to prevent the tree from water-loss stress on its journey east. The tree will also be helped by an application of GSI’s Root-Zone and water in the rubber boot it wears for the three weeks of travel before it is put up outside the Capitol building.
