Combo Chef: Alonia, Musica, Scopia Mix

Danziger’s Alonia, Musica, Scopia Mix is a colorful combination for partial shade conditions. This recipe was designed for a 20-inch basket. It’s anchored by double impatiens Musica Pink Aroma at the front and back of the container. The Musica Pink Aroma is flanked by Musica Ruby Red and Musica Pearl. Angelonia Alonia Dark Blue makes up the middle of the combination, while bacopa Scopia Pink Shade fills in the gaps.

Double impatiens Musica series roots in 14-21 days at 68°-74°. The series grows best in medium light levels of 4,000-6,000 footcandles. Anything under 2,000 footcandles causes stretching. Day temperatures should range from 68°-75° and night temperatures from 62°-64°. Under high temperatures, extra shade is required to prevent leaves and flowers from burning. Keep growing medium moist, but do not overwater. Reduce watering when plants are reaching their full size to promote flowering.

Bacopa Scopia roots in 14-18 days at 64°-75°. Pinch once about 10 days before liner planting or about 10 days after planting. Keep day temperatures between 60°-75° and night temperatures between 55°-60°. Keep growing medium moist, but do not overwater.

Angelonia Alonia roots in two to three weeks at 64°-75°. Pinch once about 10 days before liner planting or about 10 days after planting. Day temperatures should range from 68°-82° and night temperatures from 62°-65°. Grow at a minimum of 6,000 footcandles. Keep growing medium moist, but do not overwater.
