Contech Enterprises, a producer of environmentally-friendly garden and pet innovations, has acquired Michigan-based Tanglefoot, a chemical-free pest management company. The Tanglefoot purchase adds numerous products to Contech’s green garden and pest management line including insect traps, tree care and animal repellents. Tanglefoot, which was founded in 1885, manufactures products are designed to prevent insect and wildlife damage to plants and trees. It is best known for its adhesive barriers. Tanglefoot products are sold to growers, garden centers, city parks, urban forestry departments and consumers. Established in 1987, Contech Enterprises is a designer and provider of advanced animal training, control and wellness products for gardeners and pet owners worldwide. The manufacturing and distribution of Tanglefoot products will remain at its headquarters in Grand Rapids.
