Two Danziger varieties were given top honors at the FlowersExpo in Russia. The company took home gold medals in the “Novelty of the Year” competition held during the exhibition in Moscow in September.
The first award was given for the breeding of Amore Queen of Hearts’ Petunia. Queen of Hearts is the best-selling variety in the Amore series. A rising star in the global petunia market, every Amore petunia features five perfect hearts on each bloom, according to a press release. This variety has a stable heart shape pattern, early flowering ability, mounded habit and a one-of-a-kind retail story. Amore can be grown for quarts, gallons and baskets.
The second award was given for the breeding of Inzignia Cloud.This new Gypsophila variety features small cushion-like flowers that are voluminous and appealing, according to the release. Inzignia Cloud offers a long vase life; high yield and heavy, strong stems.
This variety was introduced to the market through an exclusive and creative collaboration between Danziger and leading Gypsophila growers from Ecuador. All members of the group were selected for their high-quality production of Gypsophila. The joint venture includes: Florsani, Florequisa, MuchFlowers and Malima
