Don Snow, technical specialist manager for Syngenta Flowers, will donate his beloved Toyota pickup truck ‘Ol Red’ to charity in Guatemala. Through extensive research, Don found Latin American Medical Providers (LAMP), a group of volunteer doctors who travel yearly to Jalapa, Guatemala, to provide free medical and dental care.
After talking with LAMP founders, Don and his wife Ruth decided to drive the truck, which currently has 357,000 miles, to Jalapa in order to raise funds for the charity. The couple will blog about their experiences during the trip. Once they arrive, he will donate the truck to an orphanage that LAMP serves.
The trip begins Nov. 27 with an anticipated arrival date of Dec. 11 in Jalapa.
