Two decades after The Dow Chemical Company and Eli Lilly and Company came together to form a global agricultural sciences joint venture, that business, now known as Dow AgroSciences, is a $4.5 billion global plant science leader. The company recently announced it has hired 300 people to fill new positions in key geographic areas to advance the company’s research and development work as well as to produce and commercialize its new products. The company expects to continue hiring in 2010. Key areas of recruiting are focused on science and technology positions. In 2010, the company plans to launch SmartStax, a trait-package for insect and weed control.
