Voting has begun for the new European Union organic logo. Voting closes on Jan. 31, 2010. Starting in July the logo will be placed on all pre-packaged organic products that originate in the 27 member states. Three logos were chosen from 3,422 entries, which were submitted by EU design and art students who were invited to participate in the competition.
The European Commission said the new logo needs to represent the EU both inside and outside its borders. It should be easy to remember and to associate with the EU and organic farming without using any words or letters.
