Fafard et Frères Ltd. and Premier Tech Horticulture are the first peat moss producers worldwide to obtain VeriFlora Certified Peatland Products certification for their responsible peatland management. The VeriFlora certification is under the authority of Scientific Certification Systems.
This certification and its responsible peatland management annex assure the application of good management practices in all aspects of sustainable development. The certification criteria, based in part on the ISO 9001 (quality management systems) and ISO 14001 (environmental management systems) standards, cover all aspects of production, from pre-harvest site preparation to peatland restoration to product quality control and employee work conditions.
