ForemostCo Inc., in Miami, has formed a partnership with Orquideas Costarricenses S.A. Orquideas Costarricenses is a wholly owned subsidiary of Handelskwekerij van der Velden in the Netherlands, which has over 75 years of experience with ornamental plants in Europe.
Orcosa, which started its operations in Costa Rica in 1990, specializes in young plant production of unique ornamental foliage varieties and bromeliads, many of which are patented in Europe and the U.S.
In its nearly 25 years of operation, ForemostCo has become the largest importer of live plants to the U.S., accounting for more than 20% of all plants brought into the country.
