FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cleveland, OH — Oct. 1, 2025 — The GIE Media Horticulture Group is proud to announce the return of Garden Center magazine’s print edition in 2026, marking a significant milestone in conjunction with the brand’s 30th anniversary.
Beginning with a Spring issue, Garden Center will be published quarterly and mailed to subscribers across the U.S. and Canada, offering a seasonal cadence to the trusted insights, trends and business guidance that Garden Center is known for.
Each quarterly edition will feature tentpole topics Garden Center has long championed, including:
- Spring: Launching with the industry-leading State of the Industry Report
- Summer: Featuring the highly anticipated Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List
- Fall: Highlighting top plant introductions from California Spring Trials, Cultivate and more
- Winter: Presenting the essential Spring Survival Guide, helping retailers prepare for peak season
“We made the strategic shift to digital in 2024 to be more agile and innovative, and that evolution allowed us to deliver content in new and engaging ways, including through live events, podcasts and multimedia reports,” said Patrick Alan Coleman, editor of Garden Center. “But we never stopped listening to our readers, and you told us you missed the print magazine. So, we’re bringing it back and better than ever.”
The return to print follows overwhelming feedback from readers and industry partners after the release of a special commemorative Top 100 issue in July 2025. The issue, distributed at Cultivate’25 and the Garden Center Conference & Expo, was met with an enthusiastic response, and the GIE Media Horticulture Group ran out of copies at both events. The demand made it clear: There’s still a deep appreciation for the tactile experience, high-quality design and moving storytelling of the printed magazine.
“We are proud to serve such a passionate and dedicated community,” Coleman said. “The independent garden center industry is built on relationships, creativity and care. Bringing back our print magazine is one more way we’re honoring that spirit.”
Garden Center will continue to maintain its robust digital presence, including a biweekly enewsletter, monthly online features and columns, live virtual events like Fertile Ground, and The Growth Industry podcast series. Garden Center will also be hosting the Garden Center Conference & Expo again in 2026, with the date and location to be announced in the coming weeks.
The blend of digital-first innovation, meaningful in-person experiences and timeless print storytelling ensures that we continue to serve and support our independent garden center readers.
