Garden mum events scheduled for September

Sept. 14-25:The Raker Garden Mum Trial includes over 300 mum and 25 aster varieties from Ball Horticulture, GroLink and Syngenta Flowers. There will also be displays of annual and perennial varieties that can be marketed along with mums, along with new Lekkerkerk gerberas and Fides osteospermum cultivars. An added attraction is a production trial of tissue culture hellebores from Heuger Trading. Raker will also offer a demonstration of green roof technology and N. American native plants. The trial garden is also an All-America Selections bedding plant and flower trial site.

Sept. 23: GroLink Open House at Kube Pak in Allentown, N.J. The entire collection of GroLink Belgian Mums, High Flyers and all new 2010 introductions will be shown. Learn proven techniques to avoid premature budding and small plants. GroLink representatives will be available to answer questions. 

 
Sept. 24: Syngenta Flowers Mum Open House at Lucas Greenhouses in Monroeville, N.J. The event will feature a Yoder Brand mums natural season trial and display. Mum breeder Mark Smith will discuss new introductions and how they fit into an existing mum program. Other technical reps will be available to discuss mum production.
