Michigan State University Extension will be hosting the annual Great Lakes EXPO hop session, on Dec. 9, 2015 at 9 a.m. The session is designed for beginning and advanced growers and other industry stakeholders. The session will include an update from the International Hop Growers Congress that was held this past summer in Germany. It will also feature New Crop Development specialist, Evan Elford from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs whose presentation is entitled: “Addressing Frost and Disease Challenges for hops in the Great Lakes Region”. Cornell University hop specialist, Steve Miller, will discuss important advancements in New York State’s hop industry from production to processing to legislative support that have helped spur industry growth.
