Ecke Ranch announces that it has sold its Encinitas, Calif. property to locally based Leichtag Foundation. The sale will not impact its current business model or short-term operations, but will be part of its expansion plans for the future.
Ecke Ranch says that its Encinitas property was dedicated to product research and development, and with the company’s business model changed, it was only utilizing a fraction of the land. The close of the sale will create additional capital to fund growth and innovation plans that have been in development for the last few years. The company says it will have three years to transition its operations to another one of its properties or a new location.
The Leichtag Foundation is a nonprofit philanthropic organization that will use the Encinitas property to realize a long-term vision of Community Use, which could include urban farming, service learning, and educational and cultural programs.
