Gerbera breeder and propagator Florist Holland B.V., part of the Royal Hilverda Group, will continue all Gerbera activities of Preesman Plants BV by June 15. Florist Holland focuses on specialization within gerbera genetics, which Preesman no longer considers part of its core business. The continuation of the activities fits within Florist Holland's corporate strategy by focusing on product development and international expansion as a gerbera specialist. Preesman will focus on decentralization of breeding activities, concentrating mostly on roses and further positioning of Alstroemeria and Chystanthemums.
Florist Holland will continue the full range of Preesman Gerberas next to its own assortment of standard and mini gerberas. Current customers of both companies will be informed about the details of the transfer. Florist Holland will organize production and services starting Sept. 1, 2012, the beginning of the new sales season. Until then, Florist Holland and Preesman will work together to make the transition as smooth as possible. Some employees who work for the Gerbera breeding and product at Preesman will be employed by Florist Holland, and Florist Holland will retain the international network of sales representatives responsible for the sales of the Preesman range as much as possible.
