Nominations are being accepted for the Klaas Schoone Memorial Award, an international award that will be presented for the first time in 2013. After that the award will be held once every two years.
Honoring the late orchid grower Klaas Schoone, nominees can be products, innovations in crop technology, persons or organizations that have contributed to the orchid sector, and concepts. Winners will be determined based on a jury of experts appointed by the Permanent Judging Committee (VKC). The findings of the jury will be recorded in a detailed jury report based on a number of objective criteria. The independent chairman, Gerard de Wagt, will then announce the winner. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of € 10,000 as well as an official certificate.
Information about the Klaas Schoone Memorial Award will be available at www.vkc.nl and www.floricultura.nl.
