Fungicide, herbicide and insecticide distributor Harrell’s announced the appointment of current Harrell’s President and COO Jack Harrell III as the Florida-based employee-owned company's new CEO and chairman of the board as of Aug. 15.
Jack Harrell III, who will also retain his current title of president of the company, succeeds his father and former CEO and chairman of the board, Jack Harrell Jr., after his recent passing.
Harrell, who was elected unanimously by the company's board of directors, has more than 15 years of experience, dedicating his entire career to the company.
“It is an honor to take on this new leadership role," Harrell said. "To be the fourth-generation Harrell to lead this company means a great deal to me. Following in the footsteps of my great-grandfather, grandfather and father is a tall task and one I do not take lightly. It is impossible to replace my father, but I will work every day to honor the legacy and culture he created by doing all the things he taught me and instilled in me. I look forward to continuing to work with our Vice Chairman Dave Schermerhorn as my father did for the last 20 years. It is an incredible honor to get to lead this great team at Harrell's.”
“The board was very happy to elect Jack Harrell III as chairman and CEO of Harrell’s, Inc. at its meeting," said Harrell’s board member John Attaway. "We have the utmost confidence in Jack and his ability to continue to maintain the traditions and success of his father before him.”
Harrell’s also produces custom-blended fertilizers, specialty liquids and wetting agents. It's also the exclusive U.S. owner, formulator and distributor of all POLYON-branded products.
