Bill Hall leads Hoffman Nursery's growing team

The North Carolina nursery adds Hall as head grower.


ROUGEMONT, N.C. — Bill Hall has joined Hoffman Nursery as head grower. Hall brings more than 30 years’ experience in the horticultural industry to the nursery, having worked for Carolina Nurseries, Inc., AG 3, Inc., and ArborGen, Inc. His expertise includes plant production and scheduling, propagation, tissue culture and plant health. He also has extensive management experience organizing and building teams across disciplines, according to a press release.

Hall will direct growing operations at the nursery, with a focus on ensuring optimum plant quality. “Bill Hall brings a wealth of ideas and strengths to the growing team,” said Hoffman Nursery President John Hoffman. “I look forward to our growing program expanding and becoming even more innovative with his guidance.”

For Hoffman Nursery’s customers, Hall’s years of experience growing finished products are a big plus, according to the release. He brings a fresh perspective on what’s important to growers. He understands how strong liners make it easier and more efficient to produce large, finished containers. His added expertise will ensure customers get the advice and top quality liners they need to produce prime plants.

As head grower, Hall will train and supervise the growing department staff and oversee the nursery’s plant health program. One of his goals is to increase efficiency across all aspects of the growing process. He takes a collaborative approach to building a team. His plans include increasing growers’ expertise through coaching, education and interaction with other departments. He will work closely with the production team to optimize plant transition from production to growing.

Hall will be an active member of the nursery’s leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and facilitating communication among departments.
