The legendary Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island off the coast of San Diego partnered with Brickman Group to reinvigorate the property as a Proven Winners signature garden. The hotel was built in 1888 with a focus on providing beautiful gardens for its guests. The hotel’s grounds were one of its initial draws for visitors internationally.
“This garden aims to be one of our company’s most premier showcase properties,” says Curtis Brooks of the Brickman Group.
Brickman worked with EuroAmerican Propagators to help choose plants that would really “wow” both the guests and staff. A total of 6,500 Proven Winners plants were installed, including 35 varieties.
The hotel is hosting a national media day in June promoting the new gardens as the newest reason to visit the resort. EuroAmerican is working with the hotel to design in-room brochures that will tour guests through the gardens and educate them on the various plants used. The entire staff at the hotel will also be given training about each of the plants in the gardens so that they can answer questions as well.
