The Horticultural Research Institute, in collaboration with AmericanHort, continues to directly fund and leverage research to refine science-based guidance on horticultural practices in order to protect bee and pollinator health.
As part of Grow Wise, Bee Smart, the industry’s pollinator stewardship initiative, the Horticultural Research Institute has directly funded four important research projects. These projects are a continuation of HRI’s longstanding commitment to fostering new information relevant to horticultural practices, techniques, and principles.
The researcher teams funded by HRI have just provided a second round of progress reports. There is still work ahead, so these are just preliminary findings and observations.
The Grow Wise, Bee Smart website is the recognized resource for the horticultural industry for industry and consumer outreach and education. Visit www.GrowWise.org to learn more about how your business can participate in pollinator-friendly practices, benefitting pollinators and your bottom line.
HRI’s nationally leading role in pollinator research is essential toward fulfilling the industry’s role in supporting healthy pollinator populations. Horticulture provides the very thing pollinators need to thrive: abundant sources of forage. HRI is confident that these and other ongoing projects will result in helpful best practices guidance for growers, retailers, and landscape professionals.
