Joe Geremia of Geremia Greenhouse in Wallingford, Conn., has been named the national Outstanding Young Farmer. Geremia is the first grower from the horticulture industry to ever win the award. He is only the third farmer from Connecticut to receive the honor since the program began in 1955.
The Outstanding Young Farmer program is sponsored by Deere & Co., supported by the Outstanding Farmers of America Fraternity and the National Association of County Agriculture Agents, and administered by U.S. Junior Chamber.
