Longwood Graduate Program Symposium offers travel award

Young professionals in the garden industry are encouraged to apply.

The Longwood Graduate Program Symposium is a day-long event featuring speakers, panel discussions, and conversations on a topic geared towards public garden and museum professionals. This year’s symposium, “To Preserve or Change: Redefining Heritage to Guide the Future,” will explore how institutions evolve while honoring their past. For the first time, a Travel Award will be given to eligible emerging professionals, including students, to engage a new generation in this important dialogue.

This award will be given to students, interns, and garden or museum professionals in the beginning stages of their career. Emerging professionals and students from outside the Philadelphia region are encouraged to apply.

Award will include:

• Symposium registration

• Travel, lodging, and meal costs

Application Requirements:

• Application form (found on page 2 of this document)

• Resume

• Letter of recommendation

• Statement (fewer than 300 words) describing how the Longwood Graduate Program Symposium will benefit your career

• Detailed travel cost estimate
