Lush, colorful plants in demand for summer interiorscapes

Orchids, kalanchoes and foliage plants most favored for workplace interiorscapes


Interior landscaping company Ambius reports that the trend in workplace greenery this summer is for lush, colorful and tropical foliage. The top 5 most requested plants for the American workplace this summer include:
1. Phoenix roebelenii (pygmy or miniature date palm) can grow up to 10 ft. high and sports a slender trunk and bright green pinnate leaves that grow from the top of the trunk with arching stems.
2. Hedera helix ‘California’ features solid, deep green medium-sized leaves.
3. Orchids include a multitude of species which feature showy elegant flowers.
4. Kalanchoe is a plant class featuring over 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants. Flower clusters come in many shades of white, red, orange, yellow and purple.
5. Aspidistra elatior (cast-iron plant) is native to Asia and produces large, leathery leaves.
