Hines Growers introduces two new greenhouse varieties from its Bloomtastic! and Patio Tropics lines: Mandevilla ‘Rita Marie’ and Bougainvillea Garden Party Patio trees.
Mandevilla ‘Rita Marie’ is a new evergreen perennial that features ruffled trumpet-shaped double blooms in a multi-pink color against bright green foliage. Cold hardy up to 30°F, it prefers partial sun and regular watering. It reaches 20 to 30 inches in height, and is suitable for trellises or large containers. Rita Marie will bloom all season long in warmer climates.
The Bougainvillea Garden Party Patio trees feature bright, colorful flowers that have a long bloom period. The blooms come in various shades of red, pink, orange, purple and white, and some feature white or yellow variegated leaves. These trees are grafted topiary trees that form a rounded head of foliage on an upright trunk about 18 inches tall. They enjoy the sun, are drought-tolerant, and flower almost continuously during warmer weather. The Garden Party Patio trees can be grown in a pot or in the garden, and are ideal as a decorative pot plant for an outdoor living area.
