The Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals has teamed with GreenCare for Troops to provide landscape maintenance for the many military families in need in Massachusetts. GreenCare is a nationwide outreach program that connects local landscape professionals with men and women serving our country in the armed forces away from home. MLP’s goal this winter is to sign up 100 members to offer their time and services to aid GreenCare for Troops and to build a stable of volunteers who are ready to go by the time spring comes.
Bigelow Nurseries in Northboro, Mass., has signed on as the first lead sponsor of MLP’s GreenCare for Troops initiative and is offering a 10 percent discount for any MLP member who assists a military family in need.
Families interested in applying for assistance or contractors who would like to volunteer, should contact GreenCare for Troops on the web or toll free (877) 758-4835.
