The North Devon Journal is reporting that a greenhouse the size of "four football pitches (fields)" could be built in Holsworthy, pending final approval.
Andigestion Ltd and Matthews Flower Growers (Devon) Ltd. would be joining forces for a horticultural project at Holsworthy Biogas Plant. Subject to planning consent, the combined project would grow flowers to supply to supermarkets. The company also aims to install heat recovery equipment to its generators, as well as drying equipment.
The project could create up to 54 jobs. If given the go-ahead, 26 full-time jobs and 20 part-time jobs would be created on site for Matthews Flower Growers with another three jobs for delivery drivers.
