After 7 years at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, the Mid-Am Horticultural Trade Show (Mid-Am) is returning to Navy Pier beginning with the 2011 show, Jan. 19-20. The show had been located at Navy Pier for 8 years, from 1996 until 2003. The show moved to Lakeside Center in 2004 and then the McCormick Place in 2007. During the show’s earlier years at Navy Pier, attendance grew 34%, exhibit space grew 40% and space was sold out every year.
Mid-Am attendees include plant growers, landscape construction and maintenance professionals, garden center retailers, landscape designers and architects, golf course superintendants, arborists, irrigation specialists and public and private land managers. The show is hosted by the Illinois Green Industry Association, the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association and the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation.
