Myers Industries Inc. will consolidate production facilities in two business segments — Materials Handling and Automotive and Custom. The Materials Handling facility, Shelbyville, Ken., produces plastic reusable containers and employs 88 people. The Automotive and Custom Segment, Reidsville, N.C., produces a custom plastic products for a wide range of industries. The closing will impact about 70 people.
Myers expects to incur total one-time, pre-tax expenses of approximately $10.6 million in connection with the consolidation.
