WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- The University of California Nursery and Floriculture Alliance is hosting a risk management workshop for nursery and greenhouse managers on June 26.
The workshop will be at the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Santa Cruz Co. auditorium, 1432 Freedom Blvd. in Watsonville. Registration is $15 per person.
Topics to be covered at the workshop include the industry benchmarks and tools for estimating cost and profit in nurseries, increasing efficiency through mechanization, and nursery insurance in California.
Presenters include Trent Teegerstrom, associate specialist, Agricultural and Resource Economics Dept. and Ursula Schuch, extension specialist and professor, The School of Plant Sciences, University of Arizona.
The event’s moderator is Steve Tjosvold, UCCE farm advisor, Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. The workshop begins at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast and ends at noon.
