Inspire DeluXXe™ Have you ever looked at a new introduction and thought “Why did they call it THAT?!” Well, if you ask any breeding company out there, I bet they all agree that naming is not that easy. First, you need to make sure that the name isn’t offensive — there’s a lot of slang out there. The name has to work internationally, be easy to pronounce, memorable, but above all, it has to have meaning. It needs to succinctly convey the benefits of the new product.
Take our Inspire™ Pansies, for example. When we introduced them in 2011, people were thrilled with their performance. They loved the uniformity across the series and the non-fading colors. They were easy to produce in spring or fall. Never ones to rest on our laurels, this year we came up with an even better pansy series. It was MORE uniform, easier to produce, and it is the most advanced breeding in XL flowered pansies. But what to call them? Inspire Plus,™ of course!
Wait! That’s not all!
We also came up with another series of pansies with all the great characteristics of Inspire Plus, but with an extra, extra large flower. We call this series Inspire DeluXXe™. The XX is to remind you that they have XXL flowers, but that’s not all. The biggest difference from other XXL pansies is that Inspire DeluXXe™ flowers early, then produces a second and third bloom immediately. This gives you a full, lush bench of color at retail.
