PDr. Abhay Thosarhilips expands its North American team by adding Dr. Abhay Thosar as a plant specialist for horticultural LED lighting, a role in which he will be focused on plant physiology and will assume responsibility for development of new light recipes. Dr. Abhay Thosar has a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and is a certified professional agrolist from Ontario Institute of Agrologists of Guelph, Ontario.
Dr. Thosar has 11 years of experience in nutrition management, PGR’s, environmental controls and IPM for field crops, greenhouse production and commercial plant tissue culture laboratory. During these years, he worked on different tissue culture techniques like micro propagation and diverse floriculture crops. He managed the greenhouse production of containerized plants, cut flowers and vegetables as well.
Dr. Thosar will identify and advise on the best LED lighting recipes for plant growing practices (e.g. greenhouses, research institutes and universities) in North America. He can be reached at abhay.thosar@philips.com.
