Plant Development Services, Inc. has announced Tyler Brown as its new brand sales director.
In this role, Brown will work closely with growers to drive demand and expand the market reach of PDSI’s collection of brands, including Southern Living Plant Collection, Sunset Plant Collection, Encore Azalea, BetterBoxwood and Butterfly Candy.
As PDSI advances its offerings of new plants, programs and partner resources, Brown will work to further relationships and insights from the field to accelerate the company’s growth.
With a decade of experience in the horticulture industry, Brown will support PDSI’s product pipeline, communicating with network growers, chain retailers and independent garden centers, identifying new opportunities to connect PDSI’s plant offerings with the needs of the marketplace and providing market intelligence to drive liner sales.
Most recently, Brown served as Mid-Atlantic territory manager for Star Roses and Plants, where he identified and educated on proprietary genetics from more than 100 suppliers, collaborated on market-informed production plans and provided grower solutions.
Prior to that, he was southeast sales manager for HIP Labels, focusing on account growth and industry engagement. He also brings prior experience in plant production and team coordination and is an active member of the International Plant Production Society.
Brown joins a growing team at PDSI. This year, the company has also welcomed Josh Geiger as propagation manager, Kate Pierce as marketing assistant and promoted Nicole Keppel to social media and content manager.
