Salvia Bodacious Hummingbird Falls
Reportedly the world’s first hanging basket salvia, this pollinator-attracting plant pushes out a plethora of saturated dark blue diminutive blooms with black calyx. It blooms earlier than Salvia Black & Blue and improved branching with nectar-rich blooms for your local neighborhood flying and buzzing friends. Nearly every node will have a bloom to provide a full, rich plant all season long.
Hedera canariensis Tropical Blizzard
Targeting indoor gardeners’ love of foliage, this variegated Algerian ivy provides a tropical look. With colorful, bold pink stems and glossy foliage reaching 3 to 4 inches wide and 5 to 6 inches long, it’s a tidy climber. “This one, I think, is going to be one of our most popular plants in the next five years,” says Robert Bett, CEO of PlantHaven. New for 2022-2023, keep an eye out for it on the market.
Dahlia ‘Mystic Wizard’
This new introduction for 2022 offers a visually stunning contrast with its rich magenta flowers. This bookend to Illusion has a growing manner that can be characterized as strong, with little need for staking. Nectar-rich blooms attract all those beneficial pollinators to the garden with outward-facing blooms. The dark foliage can be almost jet-black, providing a unique merchandising option for Halloween.
Rosa Scentifall Lemon
The opening salvo in a new rose series that will eventually also feature white and pink hued varieties, Rosa Scentifall Lemon features citrusy fragrant, lemon-yellow flowers that will repeatedly flower throughout the summer. Bred for premium hanging baskets, this new rose variety has high disease resistance and a 20-week finish time. It will not be available to garden centers until a year after its introductory year.
