Plantpeddler, located in Cresco, Iowa, is hosting a series of industry events over two days for horticulture industry professionals.

The events start Thursday, July 31 with the “Educate the Educators Workshop,” which is focused on supporting and training agriculture instructors on developing horticulture and greenhouse programs at the high school level. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Continuing education credits are available to all teachers from Iowa and adjoining states through Iowa State University.

That evening, the Gooder family and the Plantpeddler team are hosting “Feast at the Farm” at Stone Creek Farm to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Plantpeddler. Festivities start at 6 p.m., with shuttle bus services available to and from area motels.

The annual Plantpeddler Variety Day event will take place Friday, Aug. 1 at the Plantpeddler Young Plant facility and Trial Gardens. More than 1,500 varieties will be on display in containers, baskets and beds. Breeder representatives will be in the gardens and available throughout the day. Presentations run concurrently on the main stage, with a focus this year on greenhouse structures and equipment. There will also be a trade show of event sponsors, along with greenhouse tours to round out the day, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Continental breakfast and lunch will be served, with free admission.
