Plug Connection announced an expansion of its Spring Trials “Summit” event with the addition of five new exhibitors in the greenhouse complex site. New additions to the SoCal Summit – which will take place April 6-11, 2013 – at Plug Connection are Terra Nova Nurseries, Schoneveld Cyclamen, Morel Cyclamen, Beekenkamp and Westhoff.
The Plug Connection site will still have its comprehensive comparison trials with many of the newest seed varieties grown next to existing benchmark varieties. This year’s vegetative comparison trial will feature more than 150 hanging baskets, including Confetti, Trixi, Kwik Combos and MixMasters. Suntory Flowers will also be displayed again with 30 new varieties. The large geranium display by PAC-Elsner will include an expanded indoor display along with outdoor container specimans of both Candy Flowers and Aristo varieties. Product development company Cultivaris will increase its footprint with a much larger display of its 200-plus varieties on the market, including more than 25 new varieties. America in Bloom will also present its new program and how growers can be a part of it.
Plug Connection will be highlighting Mighty ‘Mato, Certified Organic edible options and Tessera Succulent Collection, as well as introducing a new disease-resistant organic basil program.
The location will have three distinct “Treks” which are designed to provide a high-value, focused experience, with a wide range of exposure and the opportunity for breeders and suppliers to “pitch” their products, while still allowing sales reps and growers discretionary time to customize the experience. Suntory and America in Bloom will be housed in House One. Plug Connection, Terra Nova Nurseries, Morel Cyclamen and Schoneveld Cyclamen will be located in House Two. In House Three will be Cultivaris, PAC-Elsner, Westhoff and Beekenkamp.
