Bodger Seeds is offering the F1-hybrid pack-performing Stopwatch series. Unlike other portulacas, Stopwatch varieties are both early to flower and compact in habit, according to Bodger. They flower under all but the shortest days.
In the garden, Stopwatch members create “buttons” of seasonlong color.
Plants reach a garden height of 4-6 inches.
The Stopwatch series is available in many colors, including Cream, White, Yellow, Rose,
Seed is available raw, pelleted, and multi-pelleted. Bodger recommends not covering seed because of its size and light aids germination. Growers should dampen the growing medium well before placing into germination chamber when using pelleted or multi-pelleted seed. Optimal germination temperature is 75°-80° with a relative humidity of 90-95 percent.
