PRO Institute is a floral postharvest and marketing program scheduled for Oct. 17-19 in Des Moines, Iowa. Perishables Research Organization in cooperation with OFA and the DC Kiplinger Endowment and Chair in Floriculture is offering the program.
Topics that will be addressed include: production factors that influence postharvest flower quality, cold chain management, transportation modes pros and cons, handling and packaging, growth regulators, ethylene effects and control and postharvest disease control.
Proceeds from the program will be used in part to support the DC Kiplinger Endowment and Chair in Floriculture, the Educational Fund for Ornamental Horticulture and the Chain of Life Network.
